FCC taking Comments on RM-10787 Morse Code Elimination Petition

Here are mine Keith;

I think the total ellimination of the Morse Code (CW) requirement will prove
detrimental to the Amateur Radio Service. I believe it will make it so easy
for trash to get into the ARS that it will eventually sound like CB Radio.

The testing has already been reduced to multiple guess. The CW test is a
ten question joke. In general you should NOT reduce the requirements ANY
MORE.

I base my comments on over 40 years as a FCC licensed Amateur Radio
Operater, I presently hold a pre give away EXTRA class license.

Thank You for your time.

I have filed my comments too, with a copy of the petition I would have
filed if NCVEC had not filed first.

Well Dan you are talking to the wrong person. I am not in charge of
establishing FCC rules and I can only file comments like everyone else.

FINALLY !!!!

It's VERY long past time we eliminate this albatross
hanging about the neck of Amateur Radio, known as
CW. Drop the code and increase the required theory
knowledge to pass in order to offset the same. This is
what should be done. If it were up to me, I would no
longer publish the question pools. One should know their
"techcinal stuff" if they hold a licence. I know people that
have Extra's who can't even explain Ohm's Law! This is
NOT acceptable.
