You and me? Sure. Jim/N2EY and I? Sure. Brian and I? Sure. Here's who
I wouldn't even consider being in the same room with: Larry Roll, Dick
Carroll, Dan/W4whatever, Dave Heil, Waddles (Waddles is non-existent in my
book), and that's just a few. I have no desire to "get along" with people
like that.

Kim W5TIT

Kim:

Well, that's pretty sad. I guess you're overlooking the fact that a person's
online "personality" can be quite different than what one would experience
in person, since the written word, particularly in a virtually immediate forum
such as Usenet, is, indeed, quite impersonal by nature. Moreover, your
expression of a lack of desire to meet with certain members of this forum
could cause all the rest, even those not included on your list, to not wish
to meet with you.

I would jump at any chance to meet any and all of the regulars in this
newsgroup, for no better reason than to see what they are really like in
person. I think that even Len Anderson could prove to be a quite affable
chap, given a chance to get to know him better. I may be wrong, but
at least I'm willing to take that chance. I would like to think that given
the opportunity, your curiosity would ultimately get the upper hand over
your stated objections. If not, one could quite legitimately call your
character into question, at a level far deeper than anything ever said
in this forum.

And, I would be upset....because? I don't get on a forum in a newsgroup

through who we are and who we ain't, Larry.

All we are here is merely a typeset or font! Until I either talk to the
person in person, on the phone or over the air, all of these people here are
merely fictional characters in my book. No way to really prove it is even
them posting for that matter, and I take most negative comments with a grain
of salt in that matter. To me it is purely entertainment, with the rare,
occasional educational value to it.

I would jump at any chance to meet any and all of the regulars in this

I would agree as well, because after sitting down and actually chatting with
all of these people, we might actually find out that some of these people
are not really as bad as we think. At least we then could say we actually
"have gotten to know" each other and not just see them for the way in which
they communicate here, which may not necessarily be the way they are in
person. Can you imagine that even Brucie might actually be a decent person
in real life? Hell, anything is possible.

I had another idea, of which I thought would be cool..... Since we all need
to practice on message handling/sending, I think it would be cool to get
some type of message traffic going with RRAP people as the participants.
The only problem I have is, with sending message traffic, everything I have
learned from "old school" hams is that you MUST have a phone number included
with the message traffic. I personally do not wish to have my number go
through the system which now is a cellphone number, as opposed to a landline
number. Am I wrong in my information that within a messagegram that you
MUST include a phone number????

If I am not wrong, anyone feel like sharing traffic ?? Send your interest
and contact info that you wish to use to my email address of kc8pmxNO JUNK
OR (remove the NO JUNK OR SPAM to reply.) I definitely
can always use the practice, and what the hell, it might actually be fun!

No, Brain, it was YOUR "Avenging Angel" personna that was at
work. When YOU do something like that it's "levity"...trying to get

This is a CHAT ROOM for the regulars, bound and determined

some AMATEUR show-biz types trying to imitate either Werner
Klemperer or Otto Preminger as Luftwaffe Obersts. Like yourself,

You seem suddenly disturbed by things and Who Is Allowed To Post!

Just contact AOL management if you are so disturbed by my postings

Not even the use of capitalized letters makes this newsgroup a CHAT
ROOM, old timer. The AMATEURS here are radio amateurs. You don't have
a stake in amateur radio. You puff and bluster. You snarl and yell.
You pontificate and insult but you aren't involved in amateur radio in

Lennie, is there a special "professional engineers only" course
on "civil debate" techniques that you went to?

Is this the type of conduct that rates one a "life membership" in
the IEEE? If we were to send a compendium of "Len Over 21" postings to
your claimed friends, would what they say?

For the life of me, I've never seen anyone call YOU an "asshole",
yet you seem to like to roll out those types of epithets all-the-while
accusing Amateur Radio operators who annoy you of "personal attacks".

I have PARTICULARLY noticed that you make liberal use of this
term (amongst other profanity) against people who do NOT do the same
to you, ie: Dave Heil and Jim Miccolis.

Are the "rules" different for "professional engineers"...?!?!
You certainly take GREAT offense at any suggestion of a "perjorative"
employed against you.

I understand your conduct against me. YOU called me a Nazi,
among other things, and I threw it back in your face and refuse to
back down. I have offered to cool the jets before, only to have you
throw it back in my face, so WE (yes...the ROYAL "we"...) understand
that you are a "Do What I Say, Not Do What I Do" type person.

But you then state that you are only here for "civil debate" of a
subject which you have stated expresses absolutely no interest to you,
but then when somone DOES "engage" you, you roll out the profanity and
childish insults.

Is that what it takes for you to understand a conversation?

Are you SO old that you've regressed to that "second childhood"
stage, and you are determined to have the sand box all to yourself?

Personally, I just think you're a creep, but then opinions vary.

But so far, you've not done anything to change mine.

Of course we do....It's called "Google". I've "acknowledged"
Lennie's "education" on numerous occassions...Especially since I find
it interesting that a guy with no kids and who brags about his
