I am posting here because of some of the nasty things I have read in this group and in QRZ discussions regarding freebanders. We who use the frequencies from 27.405 to 28.000 have more in common with hams than you might think. We are good operators and have knowledge of propagation and skip conditions. We use Yeasus, Kenwoods and Icom radios just like you do, so we know technical issues as well or better. However, the attitude of some hams toward us is rude and condescending. We are treated like 2nd class citizens. This should not be. We have the same rights under the constitution as legal hams do. For those that do not wish to be under Uncle Sam's thumb, freebanding is a viable alternative to getting a ham radio license. What I am saying is that maybe the next time you meet a freebander you might talk with him before you condemn him. I am QRT and standing by. (No flames answered. Please reply via email) This exact same message is posted every few months in an effort to troll for suckers who will bite on this obvious bait and respond angrily to the person supposedly sending it. However, the name associated with this message often changes, strongly suggesting the sender listed this time ("Twistedhed") didn't write it. Instead, the message's header is often faked with someone else's name and email address, usually someone the actual sender doesn't like. The actual sender requests an email response so the inbox of the targeted victim will be filled with your responses. Ignore this message or only respond to its general content in this newsgroup. Don't send email. Even if "Twistedhed" did post this message, a response here in this public newsgroup will be far more effective than an email message nobody else will see.
