Jim, where were't thou?

This evening when importing my contest CT logs into my main station
Hyperlog I noticed N2EY appears in my log every CW SS weekend going back
to '93 except for 1999. What's your excuse for that lapse? ;-)

Checking my "recent" SS logs shows K0HB in every one from 1987 to the present
except 1999. When did you get that call, Hans?

SS '99 was a tough year, Hans. I moved to the present QTH at the end of October
that year and it took some doing to get set up. Didn't even hit the air until
well into Saturday evening and I was bushed from moving. Sorry I missed you
then - but you were heard many times this weekend after our SS QSO.

I also worked Dan, W4NTI, this year and many others.

Final results this year 424 QSOs in 76 sections for almost 65,000 points in
about 15 hours - best so far at this QTH. Was doing really well until
conditions went to pot around 0000Z last night. All of a suddent the signals
went all watery- what's up with that?

Got a few nice runs going but most of my contacts were hunt'n'pounce.

Missed NT, PAC, PR and AB - heard VY1JA on 20 Sat PM but the band was fading
fast. Never heard the other three sections at all. Not too bad for the
Southgate Type 7, paper logs, a homebrew inverted V at 37 feet and one tired
op.

Maybe next year I'll use the K2. With a 150 W amp. And get a shack computer,
and redo the antenna, and.....

73 es wait till next year de Jim, N2EY

cool - N2EY dates from 1977.

I came across the logsheet from my first SS in 1968. Doesn't seem that long
ago.

Those are called "Ham Years." The opposite of dog years.
