Listen to 3945 kHz LSB

These individuals violate the regulations regarding profanity on the HF
band.

They are acting like those CBers

And there's one callsign that should be changed --
N1SOB in Palm Beach, FL.

The group was bad mouthing someone on the Liberty Net named "Victor" (Net
Control Station).
Saying that, "Victor is an ass. He thinks he's God and the Net is the best
thing since sliced bread."

One station calls his wife a "Real Estate Bitch"
A real family oriented ...he isn't, mmm-kay.

Another station comes in from Connecticut and everyone gets all friendly
until he leaves, then they start their trash-talking.

Dave January 29th 05 12:43 PM

you can bad mouth them in here all you like and it won't do a damn thing...
record them, track them to verify those are their calls, then give them to
riley.

No. They are acting like amateur radio operators who are stretching the
limits regarding the use of profanity while on the *air* (uh, not just HF).

And, why is that? N1SOB seems to be a valid call, issued to a "Thomas A.
Whatley." Why would he have to change his callsign?

Kim W5TIT...another ; )

Check part 97, it only bans indecent and obscene speech. Nothing about
vulgarity or profanity. The ARRL publication of the FCC rules cites past
FCC cases and opinions as to what constitutes indecent or obscene speech.
To summarize very briefly, it is considered obscene or indecent when terms
widely considered to be offensive are used to describe sexual
activity/organs or excretory activity.

While vulgar and in bad taste, this isn't obscene or indecent. And it is not
profanity.

One station calls his wife a "Real Estate Bitch"

Again this is vulgar and in bad taste but it hardly fits the definitions of
obscene or indecent. And once again, it is not profanity. I certainly
would not speak so as I was raised better than that. I wouldn't even say
things like this in private and as far as that goes, I avoid even thinking
in vulgarities, etc.

Another station comes in from Connecticut and everyone gets all friendly

Best thing to do is avoid such "nets." Much as we dislike them, they are
probably on the legal side of that fine line.

You can say any words except for George Carlin's list
of "7 dirty words you can't say on TV". Bad taste isn't
illegal, just not good. Some people never made it out of
junior high school in their minds.....

n1sob January 29th 05 10:15 PM

Hey Dracos; if you don't like what you hear, spin the VFO

Bill of Rights
Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or
prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of
speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to
assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Free thinking people tend to speak freely as well. While some Hams on
the frequency can get completely out of control at times, as a group we
do try to self police excessive abuse of acceptable speech. If this is
not to your satifaction, your more than welcome to go back to your home
frequency and listen there.

The legality of the behavior on the frequency has already been
addressed by Riley. That is the whole reason this is being debated
here. There is nothing illlegal being done. Therefore, no action by
Riley has been taken.

If your not happy with the concept of free speech, perhaps you should
consider moving to the Peoples Republic of Clinton/Gore. Also known as
China. They will be happy to control all of the speech and thoughts
that you may be capable of producing.

I am very happy with 3945. From what I hear, the group is a well
balanced representative segment of society. The conversations are
insightful and provacative. During the early afternoon a gentleman
named Jimmy keeps the group abreast of current events not covered in
the mainstream news. Later in the evening the topics become more
technical in nature. Antennas, audio, and the proper use of amplifiers
can often be heard well into the early morning hours.

I have NEVER heard intentional QRM'ing from any of these guys, but I
routinly hear intentional interference from the Virginia Fone Net and
others. I've heard the Virgina group members laughing about tuning up
on 3945 even though these guys (3945 Group) have been on the frequency
for hours.

One evening the 3945 members surrendered the frequency to a Mennonite
net when they were being QRM'ed by the Virgina folks. Friendy is the
word.

I guess if there was a complaint I have about 3945 it would be that
thay are a little on the rough side with regard to language. That
being said, I will continue to listen and learn from 3945.

Now you go and have a great day.

75 Meters is boring these days...With no fighting going on, who wants
to be bothered??

Dr. Daffodil Swain March 1st 05 12:00 PM

You must have must the show last Sat Nite. N1SOB declared the frequency OFF
LIMITS to the unlicensed Whigger.
