RRAP suggestion: Let's all go back to 14.313 again
I been reading this amusing sandbox war
going on in rrap for a few weeks on and off now. It's a safe be that everyone knows the protagonists the prevaricators and the prickly pears by now. While it is humorous to see a group of grown (??) middle-aged, bespectacled, bulbous-beer-bellied males with ham radio licenses acting like 8 year olds in a sandbox...it does lack the spontaneity and the humorous aspect of the great Radio Wars of days gone by. Y'all know what I mean... Tell me who in here at rrap could forget the nightly antics of "The Mike and Judy Show", the ballads sung by "The Red Panty Man", the endless hours of creative jamming coming out of Western NC (...and the 'baby crying solution' with the 'vox thingie' from down the street!) ; ) Remember the BARF Cannonball Song? ( "now listen to the jingle, the jangle and the roar...as-he psychobabbles all day...") How about helping 'Bathroom Man' clean up the school restrooms? Remember him? our friend from Phoenix? And of course, the great one himself KV4FZ who made it all possible. (Herbie on 313 was truly ham radio's answer to TV preacher Robert Tilton) Ahhhh....! Warm memories of days gone by, of a time when real RADIO FUN ruled the airwaves. So the question asks: "Why not take this ongoing sandbox war in rrap (..and rrs) back to 14.313 where it belongs?" Don't you guys reading this know that there are *hundreds* of ham OP's out there who long for the humor of the old 14.313? You have a FANTASTIC opportunity here to revitalize 14313 on the weekends for the masses to once again to tune into and have a couple hours of laughs LIVE and ON THE AIR. Not pecking at a dammed keyboard, but LIVE COMEDY comming out of the HF radio speakers like it was meant to be! Think about it guys...your public is waiting and if you build it they WILL come. (well, something like that anyway) "cluck-cluck-clucl-buckety-buckety-buck cock-a DOODLE-doooooo!!!!!" |

RRAP is natures way of keeping these (c)rrap-flingers off of the ham-bands. 73, M.A.N. -- "I have never made but one prayer to God, a very short one: "O Lord, make my enemies ridiculous." And God granted it." -Voltaire |
