A Most Humbling Experience

For the last eight days I've been involved in mobile intensive
care transports of critical patients from Southern Mississippi and
Southeastern Louisiana. I was on four ground transports and four air
transports.

For those who have been watching the news on CNN and Fox News, all
I can say is that the most horrific and heartbreaking scenes have yet
to be aired, and in all likelyhood never will be...I just don't think
the American public could withstand it.

As an ER Nurse I've seen tragedy and dispair on an almost daily
basis, but at the end of the day, it's been easy to put behind me as
soon as I get out of the parking lot. I can get a sausage and bisquit
at the corner store, enjoy a pint of milk, and know that when I get
home the lights are on and the fridge is full.

Not so in LA or MS.

I was on the ground in Slidell, LA, for 45 minutes on Saturday. I
don't believe that even if I possessed the skills of a poet laureat
that I could put into words the devastation. I never served with the
Marines in Viet Nam, but have always heard about the "1000 yeard
stare"...Well, now I've seen it...In the eyes of hundreds of those
brutalized by this horrific event.

That having been said, those who have been casting about that I am
"MIA" or otherwise "strangely absent" from the NG only reinforce, in my
mind anyway, just how infantile, meaningless and puny they really are.
In light of the last few days, the punks who make up the Feeble Five
have just ceased to have any substance for me. They are just too
petty.

You know, Steve, I recall some #1 A-holes on this group calling in to
question my service in Somalia, doubting my even being there, and
demanding proof.

And as much as I'd like to give you the same $hit that you gave me, I'm
not going to do it. I'm not going to ask you for your medical
credentials to be there. I'm not going to ask you to post your travel
vouchers proving you were there. I'm not going to ask you to post the
names of people who saw you there to verify that you were there. I'm
not going to mention that I never saw you on the CNN or Fox News that
you ask us to witness. I'm not going to do it because I'm a bigger man
than you have been.

Instead I'm going to thank you for your service as a medical
professional in our time of need. I'm even going to invite you to
continue this period of goodwill and grace by continuing by being a
bigger man than you have in the recent past. Good luck to you, best
wishes, and thank you.

Thank you for your service in MS and LA.

You've been suckered. In case you haven't noticed, "Steve" is prone to
fabrications. The -real- reason he was gone was probably because he
went camping with his mommy and daddy during the Memorial Day weekend.
If you have any doubts, just look at what he wrote: "....the Feeble
Five have just ceased to have any substance for me. They are just too
petty." Then look how he jumps right back into flame wars with the
same people. What a hypocrite.

If he really had a life-changing experience and want's anyone to
believe his newest stories, it might help if he comes clean about his
claims about his military service and "seven hostile actions". But
until that happens he doesn't have any credibility at all.

Lots of us readers know that already, Frank. :-)

In case you haven't noticed, "Steve" is prone to fabrications.

Yessir! EMOTIONAL fabrications. He's keyed to anything
emotional, seems to live for that.

The -real- reason he was gone was probably because he
went camping with his mommy and daddy during the Memorial Day weekend.

According to Dudly (whoever he really is), his father passed
away some years ago of a heart attack. Posted in here very
emotionally and upset. Dudly has never mentioned his mother
that I can recall.

If you have any doubts, just look at what he wrote: "....the Feeble
Five have just ceased to have any substance for me. They are just too
petty." Then look how he jumps right back into flame wars with the
same people. What a hypocrite.

Dudly USES the "emotional ploy" thing as misdirection so that
he can do the flamethrower thing at others. When others
complain he jumps back to the emotional story thing and berates
them even more AS IF they were responding to the emotional story.

Dudly has had NO "humbling experience." He doesn't KNOW how to
be humble.

If he really had a life-changing experience and want's anyone to
believe his newest stories, it might help if he comes clean about his
claims about his military service and "seven hostile actions". But
until that happens he doesn't have any credibility at all.

He won't. He can't.

I'm just going to challenge Dudly (whoever he really is) to POST
some kind of PROOF of his latest "humbling epiphany." Something
OTHER than his usual flamethrowing-at-others-for-not-believing-him
posts.

He could have used more correct terms such as "ten-klick-stare"
instead of the "thousand-yard" one (of Vietnam War origin) he
wrote.

Dudly COULD have been on SOME transports, but the "count" and
"type" are irrelevant. He never said EXACTLY what he did ON
them, which is the usual general, vague description he has
used in the past postings of his claims.

"Transport" is a generic term for any sort of vehicle. A ground
ambulance is a "transport." So is a medevac helo and even a
hospital ship. Dudly could have been doing his claimed ordinary
ambulance duty, thus his use of "transport" would be vaguely and
generally "correct." A spaceship is a "transport" in the same
general way. :-)

Dudly ain't got no PROOF. All we can be sure of is that Dudly
is gonna pitch another hissy-fit and cuss out all his detractors
for "not believing him." We can take that to the bank. :-)

As much as it goes against my better judgement, I'm still going to give

up to him to fly or flop, and I won't predict which he'll do. It's up
to him.

This great big warrior of "seven hostile actions" can't even use

land forces. Geez. Even I know that.

Dudly gonna FLOP. Again.

I'll bet he's even now searching, searching the net for phrases,
whole stories with which to embellish his middle-school journalism
attempts.

Maybe he thinks he can get a Pulitzer Prize for his "humbling
experience" tale? It isn't worth a Pullet Surprise...

You're welcome.

I've had my share of "fun" this week. I spent yesterday at the
Nashville Red Cross Chapter. CAP is supporting them with ground and
air services. It's a week later and you can still see the terror in
some of these kids eyes...It started to cloud over for a bit and some
kids started crying "The rain's coming again, Mommy...the rain's
coming!"

I can't imagine living life afraid of a summer rain on the porch
roof, can you?

I get back to my "regular" job tomorrow.

I've read in another forum where the DoD is sending in the
equivilent of a light carrier battle group to assist. With the waters
receeding in NO, I wouldn't want to be in thier shoes for a dozen
winning lottery tickets.

effect on you

The mere act of your suggestion sets the stage for yet another
opporutnity to humiliate you ever further...But why?

Good luck to you, best wishes, and thank you

Thank you for your service in MS and LA.

I certainly can but then I haave lived with the threat of torndos much
of my life, and seen them first hand, as well as the Hurricane that
conviced me I never realy wanted to live on the gulf coast

I get back to my "regular" job tomorrow.

I've read in another forum where the DoD is sending in the
equivilent of a light carrier battle group to assist. With the waters
receeding in NO, I wouldn't want to be in thier shoes for a dozen
winning lottery tickets.

Unlike you, I can both speak it and understand it perfectly well.

YOU stated (and "cut" to avoid embarrassment) that I CLAIMED to be
an "expert".

I asked YOU where you believe I ever made the claim of being
expert at ANYthing.

Your "response" is to suggest I "learn english".

Now...where is the answer to the question "Where have I claimed to
be an "expert" on anything, Markie?

it what can't be told is wether you made the trips or
not, that that I can't tell wether you made tthe trip or just saw the
sences on CNN fox

"the" "scenes" "Fox"

It still does not answer the question...WHERE did you get that I
claimed to be an "expert"...!?!?

cut the tangential rant

The only thing "tangential" here is your trying to put words in
other peoples posts, Markie.

Just one more thing that you're a failure at.

I can't tell if you made the trips. I am inclined to doubt it, but
maybe you did. What I know from your manner is that you were in no way
humbled by the alleged experence

you took your inablity to reconize an eliptical phrase "..or making the

using an understanding of the english language to properly understand

you blew your english gramar and went off on a rant, again as you have

"Tangential" "misunderstanding" "English"

First of all, I can't "run off the page" with anything here since
it's broadband.

Secondly, if YOU are going to criticize ANYone's spelling and
grammar, you should do it from a base of skillsets equivilent to the
person you're chastising.

In that case you again are deficient.

I can't tell if you made the trips. I am inclined to doubt it, but
maybe you did. What I know from your manner is that you were in no way
humbled by the alleged experence

And I am inclined to not care if YOU care, Markie.

"recognize" "something" "clearances" "English" "clause"

If anyone has to be "eliptical", they don't have a point...They
are trying to hide behind rhetoric and wordsmithing.

Which is exactly what you're trying to do now.

you blew your english gramar and went off on a rant, again as you have
done many times in the past

"English" "grammar"

Nope. You're the one in rant mode, Markie. This silliness of
trying to hide comments behind "eliptical phrases", and then trying to
justify the end-run are obvious.

Your attempt at "eliptical phrases" doesn't work with YOUR poor
"mastery" of the English language, Mark.

As much as it goes against my better judgement, I'm still going to give
Steve the stage to show how the past week has changed his life. It is
up to him to fly or flop, and I won't predict which he'll do. It's up
to him.

Dudly gonna FLOP. Again.

I'll bet he's even now searching, searching the net for phrases,
whole stories with which to embellish his middle-school journalism

Maybe he thinks he can get a Pulitzer Prize for his "humbling

If Steve simply stays away as he's done recently, he made a big
improvement.
