Repaired RCA 100 Speaker

Attached are the before and after pictures of a RCA 100 speaker that was
damaged in shipment.

I used fabric glue and coffee filters to attached the outside area and used
a manila envelope paper to recreate the inner half of the cone.

The glue around the inner cone pulled the paper flat to the existing outer
remains and this created a buckle in the new inner cone as shown in the
picture. I am still working on the radio to drive this so I don't know how
it will sound.

I gave the cone a light coat of paint to even out the colour differences.
Colour should have been more of a sandy colour - oh well.

What was the problem in shipping? Just curious how it got damaged. (To
prevent someone else from doing the same thing in the future...)

There is a coil inside that came loose and was swinging around doing the
damage. The coil was attached to a metal bracket with what looked like a
few wraps of an adhesive paper.

It is zip tied on now.

Here are the before and after pics.

There is a coil inside that was attached by a glued paper banding that let
loose and did the damage

This coil is now secured by plastic zip ties.
