A visitor to my website provided these photos of an unusual Climax tabletop.
He says that someone called this the "Wizard of Oz" dial. A Climax collector is offering him $3K for the set, which he is pondering. I don't see anything about this set in my mediocre collection of radio literature, but what else is new? No model number known. My immediate reaction was, "For $3K I'd take the money and run!" How many tabletops price in that range? But I really don't know anything about Climax except that they made few radios and some of them had pretty way-out designs for the time. I'm not crazy about this cabinet, but the dial certainly draws attention. To respond to me in email, kindly go to http://antiqueradio.org/contact.htm and click my name.
