BC895xlt Display Right Side Dim
 

Came home from vacation to discover the right side of my BC 895 XLT display
dim.

I didn't get into tearing it apart yet, but does anyone know if there are 2
bulbs in the unit? What type & where can I buy them?

I have replaced some bulbs in other radio shack models but I did a yahoo
search can not find anything on 895's for bulb replacement.

I believe there are 4 of them. Uniden part #BPZY0036001.

I looked quickly on Radio Shack's site, but only saw some 12V
microlamps. The ones in the 895XLT are 8V. The 12V ones would
probably work, but they'd be too dim methinks.

Uniden probably has a ton of them, so give 'em a call and see if
they can send you some replacements.
