A real scanner question.

Was in my local RS yesterday and noticed the 2052 was on clearance.
Anyone care to comment whether $99 is worthwhile for this little box?

What are you wanting to listen to?

Without question, the greatest invention in the history of mankind is beer.
Oh, I grant you that the wheel was also a fine invention, but the wheel does
not go nearly as well with pizza.

I recently bought one and it is a good scanner. The only thing I see with it
is that it does not display the 'Alpha Tag' assigned to the channel.

It allows you to assign an alpha tag but doesn't display it?

Yes, I load my info using a PC control Program ScanControl. When I load back
to PC from scanner, it retrieves the info but the scanner will not display
info on screen only the frequency..

I don't know the particular scanner, which is why I'm asking. Does
the scanner allow you to enter alpha tags? Not Scan Control - the
scanner itself. Are there instructions for entering alpha tags using
the keyboard?

Sorry.
That does not qualify as a real scanner question.
