Also try one of the real cheap FM notch filters from Radio Shack. For me,
it worked better than the expensive PAR one with an FM broadcaster a mile
away.

I installed the PAR FM notch filter tonight, and it made a huge
difference over the bandpass filters I'd previously tried. I'm very
happy with the quality now, and I can avoid having to upgrade the
scanners to real aviation recievers. Thanks again for all the input...

Great, isn't it? I spend all afternoon messing about up a ladder to get
a stronger signal, and then I have to attenuate it to make things work!
:)


I would thing the RG58 coax would attenuate the signal enough, if that's
even the problem.
