Midland Full Band T 734

Does anyone have any experience with the Midland Full Band T 734 antenna or
similar? The question is, is it necessary to tune its SWR for receiving
only, or that doesn't matter? When I had typical 5/8 antenna, it was
extremely important to cut it to the correct size, it had a huge influence
on receiving. But I don't know if it's the same for Discone antennas, so
that's why I'm asking.

urm.. a discone is a wideband aerial, hence it has no one resonant freq for
you to vswr it to! it is multiband,,

typically these are for those ones that do allow tx on 2mts and/or 70cm.
though to be honest, i've only ever found the royal 1200 to be worthy of
bothering with.
you might as well use a wet piece of string.

SWR is only involved when transmitting.
