PRO-97: Changing the Start Message

Hi all! Thought I'd share some info I discovered accidentally while
playing with my PRO-97 scanner. When you first turn on the PRO-97
scanner, the LCD displays a three line message that says something
like:

Multi-System
Trunk Tracking
Radio Shack

Though it displays only three lines of text, it has the ability to
display four...and you can customize it. I cannot find this documented
ANYWHERE, including Mark's Easier to Read PRO-97 Scanner Manual
(http://myweb.cableone.net/marksscanners/97/97.html).

To change the startup message on the PRO-97 scanner:

1) Turn on the scanner.
2) Change to any standard FM channel.
3) Press [PGM] to enter program mode.
4) Press [FUNC] + [TEXT]. The display will read:
Start Message
Edit 1st line:
5) Enter the text you wish and press [ENT] to move to the second line,
then the third, and so on.

Hope you enjoy this! I was quite surprised when I accidentally hit the
key and saw this.
