several states outlaw using cb radio while walking

several states have now outlawed using ham radio while walking. this
is part of their ban on ALL electronic devices while walking as a
result of the lady who fell into a fountain while walking in a mall.
however, instead of outlawing only texting while walking, the new
laws
state using ANY electronic device while walking is against the law
and
violators will get fined over two hundred dollars for doing such. And
unlike the driving laws, there are NO exceptions for ham radio or cbl
radio in these states laws against using ANY and ALL electronic
devices while walking.

It is ridiculous on the face of it. If your wris****ch is electronic, you
could get a $200 fine for checking the time while walking.... Or, how about
listening to a radio while jogging? Or using a heart rate monitor while
jogging?

Yes, but it all illustrates a basic problem with our government. since the
legislature is there to, "Paqss laws", they are not considered to be doing

whether those laws are needed or not. In fact, there are way too many laws

Well, these kinds of laws are quaint, and like artificts in a museum, do
little harm. The laws I am talking about are modern concoctions that juswt
restrict peoples liberties for no real reason, like the "cant walk with an
electronic device" law. Every time some new law is passed, someone's freedom
is restricted in some way. It the law also protects the freedoms of someone
else, then perhaps it is a good thing. But when the law doeswn't protect
anyones rights from transgressions by someone else, then I seriously
question its constitutionality. As a libertarian, I am generally against any
law that restricts one persons rights without protecdting those of someone
else. The motorcycle helmit law is a good example of this. If I get into an
accident with you, you are better off if I am not wearing a helmit. So whose
rights does such a law protect? Of what business is it of society to be
protecting my head? My head is my own business. If I want to break it, well
whose going to be hurt by that? There will just be a little more air and
water for the rest of the society. So, in general, I resent laws that
protect me, or purport to protect me from myself and my own foolishness.
That's not what I want my legislature to be doing. The ultimate, and obvious
endpoint of such laws is to put all of us in padded cells for, "our own
protection". That's why I call these kinds of laws, "Padded cell laws". IOW,
I think we should all have the right to harm ourselves, as long as in so
doing, we don't harm anyone else.

5-30 seconds in the microwave depending on the chip in question and how

not only swedish childrens BOOKS , also American childrens tv
shows.
When I applied for a credit card, and clicked on the link for picking
the picture I want on the credit card, and saw their rules, I found
out the credit card company will not allow pictures from the childrens
tv series H.R. Pufnstuf, because the credit card company considers it
it a death symbol, too violent, and even the name is disallowed as it
is conidered by the credit card company as a reference to illegal
drugs and promoting illegal drugs, which is disallowed on their credit
cards. Even when told it is a perfectly legal kids tv show, they
disallow it as it is considered controversial since the name can be
interpreted as referring to and promoting illegal druga, and nothing
controversial is allowed on their credit cards eirther. They are
afraid they will get arrested and imprisoned from some nimby worker at
some other company taking them to court over those for offensive
pictures and promoting illegal drugs if they allow anyone to have
those images on their credit
cards.
and you know what In this day and age, they are correct
that the nimbys will try to take them to court and imprison them for
that if they allow it. no matter that it is a perfectly legal kids tv
shows. after all, the nimbys are already trying to force all the
people living in non-hoa non-CC&r houses on non-hoa non-C&R land into
suburgatory. And the terrible part is so far, they have been winning,
even in court. I have already seen several such non-hoa non-CC&R
properties get taken over by CC&R-laden hoas without the permission of
the property owners-homeowners. land and homes which were non-hoa
non-CC&R when purchased now have CC&Rs requiring hoas against the
will of the purchasers who purchased them to get away from the
fricking horrible hoas. This kind of takeover of non-hoa non-CC&R
land by CC&R-laden hoas should NOTbe happening in America, yet it is,
even though the U.S. constitution expressly forbids it from
happening.
As for the credit card, no matter. I wasnt going to use any of the
images from H.R. Pufnstuf anyway. In this day and age, the putrid
police all over the country would use that as both probable cause and
evidence of being involved in illegal drug activities and selling
illegal drugs, even though I have done no such thing and have never
done any such thing, and never will. and it is only pictures from an
old Saturday morning childrens tv
series.

The states are trying to come up with ways to make revenue via "enforcing laws" and collect more fees from people they catch walking & talking. But if the law is ever challenegd in court, all odds it (the charge against the offender) will be dismissed. This borders closely on infringement of freedom of speech and expression as well.

Could that city's own law enforcement be ticketed if THEY are caught walking & talking? Or are they targeting the C.B. clique on town?

In California, Grand Theft, a felony, is defined in section 487 of the Penal
Code, as:
"(a) When the money, labor, or real or personal property taken is
of a value exceeding nine hundred fifty dollars ($950), except as
provided in subdivision (b).
(b) Notwithstanding subdivision (a), grand theft is committed in
any of the following cases:
(1) (A) When domestic fowls, avocados, olives, citrus or deciduous
fruits, other fruits, vegetables, nuts, artichokes, or other farm
crops are taken of a value exceeding two hundred fifty dollars
($250)."
Until amended, it used to spell out a number of avocados, etc., regardless
of their value.
Why the special treatment for agriculture? The agriculture lobby.
