Getting a scanner--Looking at the Pro-95

I used to really be into scanning. I had a scanner from Radio Shack that I
lost a very long time ago. I searched my house up and down and my only
thought is that someone stole it (friends of other family members) or
someone broke it and just hoped I wouldn't notice. I have always thought
about getting a scanner, but the digital networks really keep me from
getting one.

I am now looking at getting a scanner, but nothing that is costly. I really
like the Pro-95. Basically I am looking for a trunking scanner that can
scan both trunk (say state police dispatch) and VHF in the same bank. I
live outside Indy and feel that my county will not be going digital anytime
soon. Same goes for Indy/Marion County.

I see that the Pro-95 was on sale for around $150.00 back in October. Is
there any chance it will go back on sale? What about the Pro-94? Right now
RadioShack.com has both listed as the same price (though not available
on-line, maybe in the stores and catalog) so I am assuming it's better to
get the 95. However, since it was down to $150 before...I think I just
might wait to see if it goes back down.

Call your local RS store and tell them to check their computers to see if
they have any Pro-93 in stock. They are on clearance sell right now. The
Pro-95 just has 700 more channels and a few more talk groups. You will
not see the 95 lower then $199 until clearance time.
The 93/95 are very easy to program if you get the computer cable
available via ebay.com and download the starrsoft pro-95 freeware.

I love my Pro-95 and helped a friend find a Pro-93 that seems just as good
albeit fewer channels (but I'd never fill all the banks anyway) Luckly I got
the Pro-95 for the $150 sale but it's not a bad deal at $199 (still equals a
