Go to a blank channel that has no freq. programmed in and hit PROG then the
bank you choose and then find the channel you want to set empty and hit PROG
again..

I have some. No, you can't re-program it, since the frequencies are in an
EPROM or ROM in there. The priority, I dont really remember if you can turn
it off. It's actually designed to specialize in picking up local simplex
police transmissions, like on mobil repeater mode and car to car, thereby
warning you that there is a cop nearby. Pretty good in its day, but falls
short in this age of digitization of these transmissions.

Hi All. I just purchased a BCT7 Uniden scanner. I have several radios

and
scanners but I wanted this unit because of its size and features....The
question I have is this, can the preprogrammed frequencies be deleted,
changed or otherwise brought up to date if the frequencies change in the
area....? I do not want to modify it to receive cell phones or the like
just to change some of the features....like the annoying priority that
cannot be turned off etc..anyone have any experience with this scanner?

That's interesting. How can it differentiate between a police transmission
and any other kind of transmission?

It cant, of course, but the bulk of these close field transmissions that
would trigger the warning light off while you were on the superhighway would
probably be on police frequencies. At least, on police frequencies of
yore... It worked pretty well, actually, and many times a few minutes after
the light would go off, sure enough, you would come up on a cop.
