Ground lugs on Rat Shack Scanners
 
I have a PRO 2026, and a PRO 2048, I am interested in adding a ground
lug of some type to common ground all my Shack equiptment..My
Transceiver, amp, and antenna tuner all have lugs, but not the
scanners...Anyone ever do this type of thing??? Thanks for any help,

If those radios have plastic chassis then a convenient grounding point would
be the antenna connector. Either solder a wire directly to the connector or
insert a T adapter with a ground wire soldered to it.

Solder the ground wire to the shell of the coax adapter, then run it to the
common ground point.

The easiest way to do this is to purchase a pack of binding posts, the kind
you would find on a power supply..They are usually red and black and rat
shack used to sell them...Just drill a hole in the metal chassis, insert one
of these and you now have a convenient grounding terminal that doesn't
require any tools to connect or disconnect..
