Is Radio Shack due to come out with a desktop scanner similar to the pro 96
any time soon? If so, does anyone know the model number or have any details?

Why do you say that? Uniden doesn't seem to have any problem selling desktop
units. I always buy those over a hand held.

No, the sales of the radio would not justify the cost.
