Default Newbie - Entering/understand Trunked Freqs/Fleet Maps

I am slowly picking up a few things about trunking but still slow. I bought
a Pro94 tonight and finally got some Trunked Frequencies entered(I may have
missed some). I am not getting as much traffic as I would have expected. I
read something about Fleet Maps but struggling to choose a correct one. I
seem to get something on the default E1P1 but now up to E1P2(wow). I don't
when to stop. Is there a cheat sheet for my area of Beaumont, Texas????

Manual says to press Trunk, then Scan, the Search and that just confuses the
heck out of me since I was thinking this is a lot of key presses just to
scan. As you can tell, I am still learning. I suspect the hardway.

Any tips, pointers, suggestions would be appreciated.

P.S. My old scanner became obsolete due to Trunking.

In addition to the queston below, I was wondering why I can't enter Trunk
frequencies between 810.000 and 824.000 that are listed in my book. I always
get an error. The only other ones that were allowed were the repeater
frequencies. That seemed odd.

most likely because that part of the scanner is blocked due to FCC
regulation (no cell phone listening)

Mick, if I may. Check the Yahoo trunk tracking groups. They are loaded
with help from fellow users.
It not like news groups, it's much more concentrated on a particular
subject.
