The '2006 has a different CPU with faster scan speed and
a bi-lateral switch in the squelch hysteresis circuit. |

....and it is deaf. The 2006 is not a sensitive receiver. It was
designed for urban monitoring as I found out after I had bought one and compared it to my other scanner's performance. N3KCT wrote: The '2006 has a different CPU with faster scan speed and a bi-lateral switch in the squelch hysteresis circuit. |

Well..it's NOT the most sensitive RCVR, but however...that in itself is a
blessing! A lot of times a RCVR that hears down to .5 microvolt WONT hear all the crap a RCVR that hears down to .1Microvolt will. People put pre-amps in front of some RCVRS..only to "Desense" the front end to the point they are deaf. I have several RCVR's here and the PRO-2006 hears as good as many of them. It outperforms a lot of them on the 902-935Mhz band. While the Yaesu VR-120 is making gurgles, the PRO-2006 is quiet (or hears what is REALLY there)...Eddie "john wilson" wrote in message ... ...and it is deaf. The 2006 is not a sensitive receiver.
