One Best Antenna for ICOM-8500?

Can anyone recommend *one* good antennna for use with an ICOM-8500 in a
situation where an antenna of any significant size is a problem? Maybe
something unobtrusive and simple like the AOR SA7000?

The other related question would be how do I best connect this single
antenna to *both* inputs on the radio?

Thanx,
Bob

Well, ONE best antena isn't going to work very well at all. A longwire
would do a good job on the 30 MHZ side, and over 30MHZ a decent scanner
antenna (Not a discone, just about anything is better) would do ok.

A random wire can really be hard to spot if you take the time to think
about it.

If you do go with one antenna, a switch would probably be the best
thing, a "splitter" is not a good idea.
