I need to replace my aging but trusty Pro79 with something a little more
modern. Its gotta be handheld. Well, it doesn't HAVE to be, I guess, but it really would be nice. I'd like to listen to the local PD, which is a digital system. Any chance of that? I'd also like to listen to BP, Customs, and DHS traffic including aircraft. Is the latter on the mil-air bands? Any chance its not encrypted? I'd also like as much coverage as possible in terms of frequency ranges. And I'd like to be able to plug it into my cigarette lighter and stick a mag mount antenna on it. I was looking at the Pro96 (no mil-air) and the BC296D (what or the BD250D? what's the difference?) Any other things I should be looking at? Thanks all. |
