The jacks are "tape out" and "external speaker" . Never used either of them as I never heard anything that I wanted to hear again and the internal speaker works fine. RM~ |

I missed that jack on the first look, Cheek must have gotten his hands on
that one. RM~ "Rob Mills" wrote in message news:57oMb.61222$PK3.12665@okepread01... The jacks are "tape out" and "external speaker" . Never used either of them as I never heard anything that I wanted to hear again and the internal speaker works fine. RM~ |
It says right there in the discription "to get the full effect of this scanner you have to know your stuff". ; ) |
It looks like a regular phone jack, betcha it's for the computer hook up.
I've been thinking about changing the pc jack on the back of my BC895XLT to a phone type jack. RM~ |
Can anyone tell me what the jack by the label on this 2006 is for ?? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tegory=40 979 A company in Batesburg, S.C. called A.I.E. used to sell tone decoders, and would also do installs of the discriminator and memory interface. They commonly used cat 5 connectors for the line between the decoder and the scanner, with female connectors mounted about where the one is in the picture. I have two 2006 scanners and two A.I.E. decoders - model TCF4 - mated at home. Both were done the same way. A.I.E. sold me both the scanners and decoders, so all I had to do was place the order, and they were shipped ready-to-use. If the connector in the picture was not used for an A.I.E. decoder, I presume it was still used for a discriminator tap. Jeff Multer Fort Mill, S.C. |
Haven't you ever played "Back Jack"?

It's a RJ45(for networking) connector not a RJ11(for phone).
