Need control software BC-895XLT

I need a good control software progie for windows xp.
I looked at some but most a over priced for what they do.
I am now using PC895 Version 2, is there a better one out there?
Tried Scancat but it was only a demo version.
Thanks

Unfortunatly Scan Control does not control the 895, it just programs
it (I know 'cause I was one of the beta testers). The only trunking
control programs out there for the 895 - and running them on XP is dicey
at best - include Scancat, Winscan, Radio Manager/Trunk Manager. The
2004 edition of Radio Manager is interesting; it works just fine in the
trunking mode, but doesn't work at all on my early firmware 895 in
conventional mode. PC895 is the grandfather to Winscan, and there's
another one - Freetracker - that's available on the 895 Yahoo groups.
But if PC895 is working for you, it *might* be interesting to try
Winscan 2.1. In fact, I'd post some queries about Winscan and XP
compatibility on the BC895 Yahoo groups and see what gives. Personally,
I think Winscan is about as good as it gets. 73s and GL...Mike

Signal Interlligence (ScanStar) also had a program ... I believe the name is
Trunk Commander ... to control the 895.

The program was available through Scanner Master in Mass., as well as Signal
Interlligence.

Unfortuantly, that's no longer available. It's been migrated into
Spectrum Explorer, and I could never get that one to work either. I'm
pretty sure it doesn't do trunking, though, so at least for me, here in
Maryland, it wouldn't be quite as useful as it could be.
