Folks,
I am relatively new to scanners, so please bear with me. I am interested in purchasing a scanner for use primarily in the car while highway driving in California (especially I-5, I-80, I-10, and I-15). I would like to be able to identify police cars. I am also interested in using it in my home (I live in LA) to monitor police activity in the neighborhood. I understand scanners are useful for this task. In particular I'm looking at the Uniden BCT8. Is this a useful scanner for my needs? How effective are scanners in alerting the driver to highway patrol cars while driving? Would the BCT* scan the frequencies that I need. I notice that it doesn't cover digital, but I'm not sure if that is a problem or not. Any info is appreciated. Regards Greg |
