No. But of course it is not _your_ fault that the 'Antenna Specialist
MONR-31' CAN not meet the specs.

If you've got ideas for better antennas, I'm sure they'd
love to hear from you. CL.

As I already stated. This Antenna is good for _some_ frequency *ranges*.
Bad enough, the manufacturer(!) does not tell it in the specs.
There are _very_ few designs for passive omnidirectional broadband
antennas. But all of theem need relatively much of space. Physics can
not be cheated.
Not better in performance the CB-antenna I mentioned works nearly equal
for a much better value.

Well, don't shoot the messenger.. I don't design them, I sell them. And, as
I also said, "I've" got an "older" ground plane and it works fine. I've sold
the discone model with no complaints. Soo............. I'd be happy to sell
your versions, if you have any! CL

If you sell them then you aren't merely a messenger.

Whatever..... I am only saying "I" do NOT have ANYTHING to do with the way
they are designed OR their performance. Same with any antenna you'd buy
through Radio Shack. You wouldn't bitch the salesman out because the antenna
didn't work before you even tried it or even if you had no intentions of
buying it. I handle the items in my shop. As I always say, if you want to
buy, fine! If not, that is fine too. I'm not shoving anything down anyone's
throat or up their ass. If you don't like the antennas, do not buy them! CL

It's winter.
They're getting cranky because they can't get out and play.

(Never understood why some people top post.
It's kinda like the answer prior to the question.)

That is a good question. When I first started newsgroups (many years ago) it
was almost all top posting. It was sort of assured that the poster had read
the previous email so why bottom post and make everyone, who also read the
post scroll through known territory? It really never bothered me a whole lot
where the post was placed. However, I don't like those replies that are
mixed in with the previous post. I find them hard to read. Especially when
the replies have the smeared all over the page by bad acting news readers.

Now please, lets not have top or bottom post police grin.

Cheers

Have 2 types available. A Discone and a Ground Plane. Both good for 25 -

On technical reason a ground plane antenna can NEVER work as a broadband
antenna. It is limited to some frequencies or relatively small frequency
ranges with acceptable gain.

That doesn't stop outlets such as Radio Shack from advertising 25 - 1300 MHZ
coverage from groundplane antennas. Of course it will receive SOME signal
over the entire band, but so will a paper clip.
