BC296D vs Pro 96
Greetings all,
I am relatively new to scanning and I want to purchase a scanner. I know it may sound dumb, but does it make sense for a newbie to purchase a high end digital scanner like the BC296D or the Pro 96? Or would I still need to get a conventional scanner? Are there any comparisons between the BC296D and the Pro 96 online? |

You need to find out if the radio systems you are interested in monitoring use digital APCO25 or if they use analog simplex, repeater and/or trunked radio systems. If the radio system you want to monitor are analog then a Radio Shack Pro-95 or BC250D scanners should work fine for you and are a not as expensive. If you need the digital scanners I suggest you get the Uniden because it has a lot more coverage and costs about $25 more then the PRO-96. -- Best Regards, Keith NW Oregon Radio http://kilowatt-radio.org/ Pax melior est quam iustissimum bellum.
