BC296D vs Pro 96
 

Greetings all,
I am relatively new to scanning and I want to purchase a scanner.
I know it may sound dumb, but does it make sense for a newbie to
purchase a high end digital scanner like the BC296D or the Pro 96?
Or would I still need to get a conventional scanner?

Are there any comparisons between the BC296D and the Pro 96 online?

Both scanners are digital capable. You need to find out if the radio
systems you are interested in monitoring use digital APCO25 or
if they use analog simplex, repeater and/or trunked radio systems.
If the radio system you want to monitor are analog then a Radio Shack
Pro-95 or BC250D scanners should work fine for you and are a not as
expensive.
If you need the digital scanners I suggest you get the Uniden
because it has a lot more coverage and costs about $25 more then the
PRO-96.
