If I can remember you need PAL in Europe and NTSB for the US.

Countries with 50 cycle mains power use PAL.

Countries with 60 cycle mains use NTSC.

Most of Europe and Asia is PAL. France is an exception with SECAM.

Most of Central and South America is NTSC.

The two are not compatible although there are various converters which
can do a mediocre or excellent job depending on whether they are
analog or digital respectively.
