Hi all, Any suggestions on a good recording programme for scanner audio on computer. Why don't you try "Goldwave"? It's a general purpose audio recording program that produces .WAV files of audio quality you specify. The lowest quality (smallest file) should be fine for a scanner. |
I most definatly agree on GOLDWAVE.. if you are recording satellite
stuff or satcom, there is a noise reduction filter to cut out some of the static :) Troy R. wrote: Hi all, Any suggestions on a good recording programme for scanner audio on computer. Thanks |
Xcorder...........set and forget.......and its FREE

Thanks folks, very helpful.

You might also want to have a look at Audacity. Its open source and its
free. Its available on Win, Mac & Linux. http://audacity.sourceforge.net It has similar features to Goldwave including plugin. It has a good interface and very easy to use. Although I have only had it for few days and have not done any long recordings, the performance looks promising. On my Athlon 900 its start very quickly (1 - 2 secs) and you can start recording imediately. -Q |

: Hi all, Any suggestions on a good recording programme for scanner audio on computer. Thanks I say forget the PC and get yourself a MiniDisc recorder to hook up to your scanner. You'll be saving your hard drive that way and you'll still have digital addressable media to record to. I suggest Sony's MZ-R37. It's somewhat old, you might have to look for it on eBay, but it really does the job. I use mine on both my scanner and my shortwave radio (great for picking up station IDs in ham radio conversations). A typical MiniDisc will hold up to 2-1/2 hours of audio. |

Or as Dallas told me,
A voice activated note-taker with a usb interface to transfer to pc etc.. Leave it connected all day, and only record when there's some action! There is no real need to x-post the whole thread. It only waste's bandwidth and getting the answers on several groups is boring. |
