Radio Shack Pro-26 battery question

Hi, everyone -

I have a Radio Shack Pro-26 scanner that I picked up over 5 years ago
at a Radio Shack Outlet store.

I love the thing! I was changing my batteries in it today and I
noticed that there are terminals in it that appear to be for a
rechargable battery. Is there such a beast that I can buy for it and
use the charging jack on the side of the scanner? Also, was there
ever a leather type case made for it?

I actually have everything for it - the service manual, parts list,
owner's manual, and box - :-)

Thanks,
Jon

My PRO-26 uses 4 regular AA rechargables, using cat# 273-1665 AC
adapter (9v 300ma) for recharging or AC power.

Don't know about case.

not excatly sur what you mean,
but if you mean the third contact terminal where the battey pack goes in
then yes.
there is a rechargeable pack you can use, or if you are cheeky you can wire
a diode across inside to put the power to the normal + terminal from the
charge terminal.

the mod is on the net somewhere i expect.

i think it was the 36 i saw it for.

Just put four rechargeable batteries in. They can be recharged inside the
Pro 26 if you use the 9volt "charge" socket.
Takes a little longer if the radio is on though.
