New 1.8 KHz Spacing For Commercial Aero Channels ?

-might be a double post. Server problems on my end.
I so, Iapologize-

Hello:

What's with this 1.8 KHz channel spacing for commercial Aero I've heard
about ?

True ?
Implemented yet ?

Exactly who will be using ?

Any way to implement on a 780 ?

Thanks,
B.

1.8kHz would be far too close to be usable.

8.33kHz is the smallest spacing that has been approved for voice comms in
the airband.

8.33kHz has begun to be employed in Europe. It is used for the high level
on route broadcasts. No time frame has been given for its use outside of
Europe.

As to the 780, there is no way to change its steps. You can tune it using
10kHz steps, so you will only be a little bit off frequency.
