SF Bay Area Traffic Aircraft Frequencies?

Greetings all,

I did the appropriate google searches of [alt|rec].radio.scanner

and found the following:

450.0625 - Metro Traffic Control
450.0875 - KCBS (740)
450.0975 - kcbs 740 news
450.2125 - KGO (810)/KSFO (560)
450.2375 - knbr 680 traffic
450.4625 - Metro Traffic Control
450.5375 - Metro Traffic Control
450.5625 - Metro Traffic Control
455.0625 - Metro Traffic Control
467.6750 - Metro Traffic Control

But most are 5 to 12 years old.

Anybody out there that can confirm that those freqs are or are not in
use? Especially in the south bay?

Why not tune your equipment and test? Sorry, always suspicious about
frequency questions!

Because 1/2 of my commute is on Bear Creek Rd and I need to keep my
hands on the wheel and eyes on the road.

My QTH is in a serious radio hole, we don't even get broadcast TV.

I can just barely get out of the SLV with 40W on 2 meters.

What exactly are you looking for? Frequencies for aircraft and
airports in the area?

I'm always hearing mountain & 17 reports.

Can you hit WLS repeater?

WLS?

Yup, I can hit Bonny Dune with 50mW. Little scratchy. 7 miles line of
sight I believe. I have a little ridge between them and me though.
About 900', one mile away.

Have a harder time getting into AOK, but I can. FB is ok. KE is hard but
doable. VS is iffy.

Can't hit BJ in Santa Cruz to save my life. What? Say 13-15 miles
away... Watsonville? You gotta be kidding.

If you want to have nightmares, email me and I'll send you my
propagation map at 2m. I'm at 675'. About 1/4 a mile to the south I'm
looking at a 1400' ridge. About 3/4 a mile to the north, about the
same. To the east gets to 2400' within 5 miles. To the west gets even
higher at 7 miles.

Even Jeff L says I'm essentually screwed. If you want to set up a radio
telescope with lots of earth shielding, I'm in a really good place...

If you're in the hills you might check out ba.mountain-folk if you don't
already.

[Dropping into requirements/scope mode]

I am specifically looking for the reporting downlinks from the traffic
and news aircraft.

From whatever organizations that have them up.

I am not interested in the air traffic control aspects.

[back to discussion mode]

Why do I care? Primarily because my dad asked, secondly because it would
be cool to hear them.

Why don't I scan them out for myself? My normal commute makes Hwy 17 and
9 look like an oval racetrack. That said, I probably *will* do some
limit scans when I'm down in the flat lands.

Most of the net information I've been able to locate is dated enough
years back that I thought I'd ask if anybody had current knowledge.
(And I'll post whatever my direct results are too...)
