Virgina Beach - Are scanners still worth it?

With the increased use I see of onboard computers in the police cruisers,
are radio scanners still worth it if you like to listen to what's happening
around town?

I live in Va. Bch and still use my pro-94 all the time. talk groups are still
in use and all the police I talk to are not talking of changing to digital. I
think they are worth it depending on what your interests are.

Thanks for the response. I am surprised in your response though as I was led
to believe that Va. Beach and Chesapeake had already gone digital???

You are correct. They have P25 digital for some time. Many of the Va. Beach
talkgroups are in the 60,000 number range. I don't think Chesapeake has totally
converted yet to P25.
