Wouldn't the 2 metter band rightfully go from about 135 mHz through mayby
160 or 170 Mhz. I am not certain that the writer was asking for the ham 2
meter freqs but a general question of what is two meters freq?

You can figure it out mathematically but I have to look in the book to find
it.

The 2 meter band, is as was listed below - 144 - 148. 13x.0 - 17x.0 may be
confusing you as that is the band area normally specified by receivers as
being the VHF High Band, part of which 2 meters is found in. I THINK 2
meters covered a hair below or above 144 - 148 a time ago, but this is
pretty much the band plan now and has been for a while. CAP is now just
below and above the 2 meter plan. I think you're trying to figure out where
2 meters is in relation to the VHF band much like 75 meters folds into 80 in
the HF and so on.

Wavelength (in m) = 300 / frequency (in MHz)

(for free space, different in a media, but if you need that sort of
precision you should be looking someplace other than rec.radio.scanner
for information.)
