Default icom r20 usb connection

Hi,

just got myself an icom r20. It is a little bit hard to get the standard pc
connection cable and software where I live.

Are there any alternatives? I have a number of USB/firewire/1394 cables but
non of them have the connector that fits into the R20. Is it a propietary
one?

I've found the IF20USB on www.butel.nl, but this is not available yet.

Will the R20 mount like a normal removable disk, so i could transfer the
audio files easily?

Ron

Hi Ron,

The cable end is very similar to the ones that are used for video cameras.
Having said that, you need a USB driver that is compatible with the radio
for it to work. The radio doesn't appear to the computer like a drive, but
rather like a new device.

I got my software from Grove in the U.S., mainly because they had it in
stock and I couldn't get it anywhere in Australia.
