Funny Problem with new RS PRO-95
 

Hi,

I have a new PRO-95. If I am in Search or Scan mode and switch to Manual by
pressing the 'Manual' key. The unit will switch to manual but then in about
5 seconds it will shut it's self off. This only happens if the squelch is
set above the noise threshold. If the squelch is open it will stay on.

Anyone have any ideas? My quess is some setting but do not know what to
reset.

Assuming you have good batteries, because it sounds like a power problem,
return it, it is defective.

I repeated the sequence on my Pro 95,
The unit did not shut down.

Tried it with my Pro - 95 scanner too, no shut down here! Take it
back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

just do a ful reset, it's the processor autoshut off has kicked in.

Thanks for the comments. It turned out to be low batteries. I replaced
them and it works fine. Really strange failure mode!

prob not enough volts to keep the internal volt reg happy

Never noticed that with mine in low battery condition, will give it a try
next time. Very interesting.
