I was wondering if there is any type of simple receiver or scanner I can find/purchase that would be capable of tuning above the FM band, like from say 100 to 130 MHz. In this range I would still want to be able to receive and demodulate FM signals. WFM or NFM. If I'm not mistaken, that is the aero band, and most traffic in there is AM. Nevertheless, many scanners let you select the desired modulation (AM, FM, NFM, etc.) for any particular frequency. (Some of the less expensive ones do not let you select, but instead are hardwired for a certain type of modulation within each band.) So, the answer would be "yes". Have a look at the current lineup of scanners, and pick one that lets you set the modulation. -- Gerry Wheeler Naples, FL |
