Is this a decent scanner, or would I be better to buy a new Pro 83? The 83 is a simple handheld 200 channel scanner. No alpha tags. No tone control. No trunking. It has one major feature called Signal Stalker. It is a built in frequency counter that finds strong signals and automatically tunes in to them. I've been using mine since the day after Thanksgiving and it's only use is frequency counter mode...... If you need any more than this, the 83 doesn't have it. OK, but what about the 82 ? What advantages does it offer (if you know)? I'm a bit mystified that I can't find one review on this scanner. I googled it to death, but there's literally an information void on this unit.
