True. There have been a few "interesting" moments. :-)

What about the newer phones that say they put out "2.6 ghz" or
something like that?

I assume everything is digital now?

No. Everything is not digital. Many are starting to migrate to the
2.4ghz band -- however, the majority of cordless phone conversations
take place at 900mhz. Although illegal and I do not support the
monitoring of private communications -- if you can, switch your scanner
to Wide-FM and scan the 900 - 904Mhz, and 924 - 928Mhz. I have a 2.4Ghz
receiver and can listen to my conversations.

Again, please do not look at this as directions to commit illegal
activity -- it is meant for legal purposes.

'specially when you pick up a 911 call coming from one of those. TV news
outlets are always hungry for hot stuff like that and will most likely give
you $$$ if you send 'em a tape or MP3 file of something like that that you
picked up on your scanner.

My favorite is the baby monitors. The new ones are always on since they
plug into the wall. Makes for nice room bugs. Interesting entertainment
for a 14 yr old when the neighbors are going at it loud enough to be heard
clearly in the baby's room.
