trouble with hum

I am broadcasting my scanner over the internet and the sound is fine until

cable for my scanners connection to the sound card but it did not help.

suggestions on how to fix this?

Try a 0.1 uF Tantalum cap on the center conductor. IOW, interrupt the
center conducter and install the cap inline between the scanner and sound
card. Also, I would strongly suggest you install a 1:1 isolation transformer
between the cap and scanner.

Thanks.. this is beyond my capabilities.. is it possible to buy something
like
that?


You could buy a rigblaster. They do all the level interfacing for you. Or,
you could buy the part from Radio Shack. P/N is 272-1434 $1.59

radio shack in the u.s. also has a 1:1 transformer wired up for stereo's,
you would only need to use one side of it for mono.
