BC760Xlt - what does that button do?

I recently bought a Uniden BC760XLT scanner from ebay. Not having a manual ,
I'm wondering if anyone knows what these buttons do?

DLY
LMT
SRC

Any help would be really appeciated!!

Don Church June 3rd 05 09:07 PM

DLY - delay - scanner stays on channel for a sec or two after transmission
is stopped. this is usefull when your trying to listen to both sides of
conversation if there is a pause in the middle.

LMT - Limit -you would use this when scanning a range of frequencys.

SRC - Search to resume or search for next freq when scanning a range of
frequencys.

Hi Don. Thanks for the reply, espicially on delay since it was getting
rather annoying to listen to a conversation and have the radio start
scanning again as soon as one party let off. I am kind of slow today and i
am wondering if you can elaborate on SRC ? Whenever i push SRC i just get
"Error" on the LCD. There also seems to be no way to scan a specific
frequency range, such as 430-450Mhz, without entering every frequency
manually. Is this related to the SRC key?

PowerHouse Communications June 4th 05 02:05 PM

That's an easy one. Use the LMT key first, then the SRC key...

For your example below, you would stop the scanning by pressing manual, or
MAN, or whatever the button is labeled on your scanner, then set yourself up
on an empty channel. Key in 430, then press LMT. Now, key in 450 and press
LMT again. Now press SRC, and you will be searching all available
frequencies between (and including) 430MHz to 450MHz...

Here are a few extra key codes that aren't in the manual...

With the unit off, press and hold the 3 buttons- 2,9, & MANUAL then
turn the unit on to ZERO out all frequencies.

Try the same "trick" only with the 2, 9, and SCAN buttons.
(2, 9, and SCAN ) + power, gives these results on BC 760xlt...
My guess would be that this is a test/reset mode.

Thats kind of interesting about 13, 14 and 15, will the radio still tune to
them?
