Realistic Pro-83 Scanner review?

I noticed that RS has a sale on the above scanner for $99.99.
Anyone own one that would like to give a review? How does the feature
"Signal Stalker" work?

Thanks in advance.

They work great as long as you are not wanting to listen to Trunked Radio.
Where are you wanting to use it, and what are you wanting to listen to?

Alex,
I live rural. We have a lot of 155 mhz traffic, utilities etc. How
does the signal stalker feature differ than frequency search?
Thanks,
Mike

This scanner works fine in that range. The Signal Stalker will find active
frequencies in your area when you have it turned on, and it will alert you
as it does. Personally, I've found the SS capability to be limited to around
1/4-1/2 mile range in my area; admittedly, I live in an area that is low
compared to most of my surroundings, topographically speaking.

It will work fine for that. If you turn it on it checks for close calls,
range depends on terrain, every couple seconds, and locks on to them if it
finds one. They are nice in that they are so small, makes them easier to
carry.
