Check out our C250 on the Commercial side of our website for a great little
unit that will control 4-8 radios in a mobile environment.

And why would the average SCANNER user have an interest in this?

--
Because many "average" scanner users have multiple scanners. Some are even
HAMS. And some others work in jobs where they have one or more two-way
radios in their vehicles in addition to one or more scanners. And on the
Amateur Radio side of the website is more cool stuff that "average" scanner
enthusiasts may like.

It's a mess if you have a bunch of mics and speakers in most vehicles. Our
equipment cuts down on the clutter because you only need one microphone (for
two way radio) and two speakers (one for Selected Audio; the other for all
other Unselected Audios) for up to 8 radios.

Very nice gear, no doubt...but way too pricey for what it does.

What do you know of that's even close in price that does what the C250 does
including:
-1 mic (any mic)-4 radios (any radios)
-crossband repeater (VOX or COR)
-PA output
-Selected & Unselected Audio Outputs with separate volume controls
-Busy Light
-expandable to 8 radios
-Hookswitch function
-Multi-Cast
-Multi-Rpt

???

Well I guess that's the reason for the price...apparently you have no
competition! That sill doesn't fully justify the price, for what you're
actually getting.

In a commercial, or industrial market, where people pay several thousands of
dollars for a two-way, they probably wouldn't consider your prices to be out
of line. But for the amateur radio, or scanner hobbyist market, it is way
too expensive.

Just my opinion of course, but then I could be a potential customer. Maybe
your company should consider a non-commercial version that's more
affordable?

To reply, remove TheObvious from my e-mail address.

-----------------------------------
I built a similar project abvout 20 years ago and it was very nice to
only have one microphone and one speaker to deal with.
In my version the selected audio was 100% and the others where
about 20%. I could mute the others in an emergency.
MAde it much easire to manage my ham radio, my CB, company business
band and the 3 scanners.

Of course my "controler" cost me about 50$.
I added a I/O for a Headset and a vox for another ~30$

$649?
Yikes

Mine too. He talks about the average scanner hobbyist, but prices his
products WAY above the reach of the average hobbyist - who has to
think twice before buying a $50 outside antenna.

I'd rather build my own than buy from someone with that attitude - let
alone that pricing structure.

Maybe make a similar device for hobbyists, lacking some of the
'commercial' features, i.e. PA hookup, cross band repeat, multiple
transmit on multiple radios?

The C250 is priced for the commercial market. But check the ham versions on
the Amateur Radio side of the website:
