That's a 30 year old design. How good can it be?

In the late 1980's a friend of mine bought one. He was a Lebanese Christian
desperate for news from the area. He had a Grundig, I think it was a 650,
which had great ergonomics and great sound, but was a little weak in
sensitivity.

He bought one of these units and was never happy with it. It came with a
coax cable and he had it up as high as the cable would allow. I lent him
an Ameco PT-3, which did a much better job.

Geoff.

It's just another amplified whip antenna. It will certainly catch
stations and is a good idea IF you can't string a wire antenna.

I have a DA100D, purchased in 1988. Works fine, but I couldn't tell
you if it is the greatest amplified antenna ever. (A full-size wire
antenna is definitely better.)

That's a DA-100 (no suffix).
