he knows its missing but he of course he lies.
that reduces the value to a collector and it can not be claimed to be MINT
someone who claims to be the worlds largest drake dealer should not be lying
son of a bitch.

If the backside of that radio is mint, I'm the Shiek of Araby.

This line could make your side of a story if you ever wanted to go after
him.

From his description:

" It is functioning perfectly, the calibration is right on the mark and
the set is very sensative, working slightly better than Drake spec's."

Prove it, where is the calibration results, from a certified lab? This
line indicates that he/or someone has verified that the equipment is
working better than it's original spec's, which I am no expert but
I doubt this.

Please explain his 97.5% positive rating AND several repeat customers.

Really. I'm at a loss.

That's actually pretty low. I generally don't buy from someone with that
kind of rating.

The feedback system on e-Bay is more of an 'I'll scratch your back if
you scratch mine' system. Feedback is often exchanged by users and
sellers as a perfunctory conclusion to the transaction. Because feedback
is rarely revokable, many do not wish to leave negative feedback.

I know, it doesn't make a lot of sense to most of us. But considering
that poor service and less than satisfactory transactions are widely
accepted in commerce coast to coast these days, don't expect the e-Bay
feedback system to reflect an accurate portrait of buyer satisfaction.

Note also that Martyn's listings clearly appeal to less knowledgable
users. Maghakian is actually quite right: Radio-Mart's listings are
often inaccurate, if not deceptive. Buyers who move on these
transactions who don't know the difference will not be dissatisfied, and
while those who do have other motives for their purchases. Negative
feedback will not be posted for these transactions.

But if you read the feedback comments for Radio-Mart, you'll see a
pattern in the complaints. As well as a pattern in Martyn's responses
that tell you more about what doing business with him is like than the
raw percentage ratings.

And actually, among sellers on e-Bay, a 97.5% feedback rating is
quite low. It's quite low for brick and mortar merchants, too.

If Bob Grove had a satisfaction rating that low, he'd have been out
of business years ago.

Fear of retaliatory feedback has kept some users from posting
negative feedback. Martyn has been known to threaten negative feedback
when a transaction goes south, something that's expressly forbidden by
e-Bay, and can get most users ejected summarily.

However, as is common today, complaints are not as frequent as
offending situations. Nor are the complaints particularly well made.

Unfortunately, there is a different set of rules for large volume
sellers like Martyn than those for lesser sellers, or casual buyers,
and complaints are treated differently.

What it would take is more than one user forwarding a documented case
of a threat of negative feedback to get e-Bay to look into complaints
against this guy.
