ICE flights...
Antarctic summer season is now open (October to March).
Last week, heard ICE-zero-seven. This morning, I heard ICE-zero-nine, on 8867 kHz to Auckland, then on 9032 kHz to Auckland then to "McMurdo Ops" also on 9032 kHz (all USB.) Flights are from Christchurch New Zealand to the ice runway (whose orientation literally changes with the wind) at McMurdo Station, Antarctica. Mark. Auckland New Zealand. |

Hmm, yes "This morning..." means absolutely nothing really! I meant: 9th Ocotober 20:51 to 21:13 UTC. I suppose I was meaning local morning time. The ICE flights always leave Christchurch in the local morning and arrive about five hours later at McMurdo. Mark. Auckland New Zealand. |

Used to hear a lot of activity years ago on one of their 8 MHz freq's. Even heard a Helo on the ice at the South Pole one time. dxAce Michigan USA |
