New DRM receiver available

Hi,

I see that a reasonably-priced DRM receiver is finally available that
doesn't require connection to a computer:

http://www.thiecom.de/morphy-richards-drm-radio.htm

The price is €199 (works out at about US$250) + shipping. Doesn't
have direct-entry input but is software upgradeable.

I'd only buy one of these things if I worked for a museum and wanted an
artifact that would remind people in 2011 what DRM was.

Just checking - you know that DRM is digital radio (for AM/SW) in this
case?

Just checking - you know that DRM is digital radio mondiale (for AM/SW)
in this case, not digital rights management?

the arrghh difference between this model and the aaargh sangean model is
that argggh you can put a nice light bulb on top ot the arggh Morphy
Richards and that arghh will make reception close to zero ...

Someone told me that that was the reason why at Sangean the radio comes so
late: the sales engineer always tests the beta models near his fluorescant
lamp. The radio engineers realised that in August, 2006. ... and the beta
models always came back with bad quotations ....

The sensitivity would not work out well for most people.

DRM 8 dBuV would be about -89 dBm or S6.
DAB -99 dBm would be around S4 to S5
AM 55 uV would be around S8

This radio sucks.
