Dear Cuhulin,

Go he http://www.together.net/~victrola/ . This company is
fantastic! You can telephone them toll-free also. They are very helpful
and will most probably have in stock what you need.

Best,

Joe

You should get a spring every year between winter and summer.

Thanks Joe.I will check out that together.net websie. My Bogalsa floor
model phonograph was made by Bogalusa Furnitue CompanyBogalusa
Louisiana.I think one or both of the springs in the United Air Cleaner
Co spring wind motor might be broken.I own two other wind up phonographs
too.One of them is a Silvertone portable child's phonograph,it does
work. The other one is a table top model,it is a basket case, some of the
parts are missing.I bought all three of thm at a Goodwill store years

Hi,

I did a search for Emprophonic phonograph by United Air Cleaner, Chicago, Illinois. This is what is stamped on the motor housing of the phonograph. This website is one that showed up on the webpage. The website showed you mentioning United Air Cleaner Co. I know your speaking of springs concerning someone having a problem with one, and don't mean to interrupt you, but yous seem to know something about these phonographs. Mine works as far as the turntable, but I'm not getting much audio out of the tone arm, but I understand that every time you play a record, you must change the needle. I haven't done that yet. I just started the process in restoring exterior, etc.

I can't find out much about the Emprophonic company. The one I have also has imprinted on the underside of the lid "Knox Furniture Mfg. Company, High Point, N.C. The odd thing is someone posted they had one, but it showed a different city and state. Since you show yours was made by Bogalusa Furniture company, I'm assuming this company built these or supplied furniture companies with the motors and/or parts and put their imprint on it and they had them built for them. Is that correct?

I can't find much on this phonograph. I just don't understand what an Air Cleaner company would have any involvement with phonographs.

NOW for the big coincidence, I recently purchased my Emprophonic New Reproducing Phonograph from an antique dealer in Bogalusa, La. Appreciate any info.

Thanks
Bayouman
