Got my RP-2100

Ordered from Ebay seller tquchina-couldn't be more pleased! It was shipped
within 24 hours from China on 10/27 and I got it today in Pa. 11/6.

Forget the other portables-this thing kicks ass. The only downer I could
find was that as you spin the tuning knob, you get a 'plink-plink-plink'
sound as the encoder switches frequencies. Some won't like that, but, the
audio is so nice-reminds me of a (real) Grundig I had once-that you'll
probably wanna listen more than spin. This radio is for the broadcast
listener. I bought it with that intention. No SSB in this unit.

Sensitivity on the 2100's whip makes me think my E1 might be broken with its
uselessness on its whip. E1 audio response, while still nice, is more flat
than the nice, bassy RP2100. In terms of "Hi-Fi," it's the best sounding
portable I've had. AND!: the pots are nice and linear-nothing like the POS
RF gain and volume controls on the S350.

I won't say much more-the review on radiointel.com pretty much has it
right-best to go there and check it out.

Not to mention, that in person it's a really nice looking radio.

Got my RP-2100

P'va had mine about a month and the 2100 works well . The 220 to 115
volt
ranvery warm so I went to the dollar and purchased a cheapo C oby ac
adapter
for 3 dlrs plus tax. The radio works much better with this as does the
builtin
charger for nicads in the radio. I's just precautionay but I'd rather
not chance a fire. I did toss the transformer. The2100 makes anoce
nightstand radio with decent reception onthe whip andvery nice audio

Fortunately mine came in English and ready for 115 VAC-with the reputed
battery life, I just run on batteries. (I try not to leave any of those wall
warts plugged in anyway)

I emailed tquchina and asked about the RP3000 they're supposed to be
releasing. Not 'till mid-2007. :(
